Dr Stewart Hawthorn MSc BDS FDS DOrth MOrth

Stewart Hawthorn MSc BDS FDS DOrth MOrth Stewart is a qualified Orthodontic Specialist and has worked exclusively as an orthodontist for over 22 years. He trained as a dentist at the University of Dundee and after spending time in general dental practice followed by Maxillofacial Surgery appointments he obtained his Surgical Fellowship. He then undertook postgraduate orthodontic training at Guy's Hospital, London, where he gained his specialist orthodontic qualifications.

Stewart has delivered lectures to the British Orthodontic Society on root resorption, bonding techniques and practice management. He has held many administrative posts in the British Orthodontic Society and on Local Dental Committees. He is a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists, the British Orthodontic Society and the American Association of Orthodontics.

Stewart has a particular interest in treating adult patients using cosmetic fixed appliances and the Invisalign technique. Stewart attended the very first Invisalign Certification programme and is a regular attendee at advanced courses for this appliance. His work with Invisalign has resulted in him being awarded “Platinum Doctor” status. Stewart delivers lectures on the Invisalign and other orthodontic techniques to orthodontic and dental colleagues as well as dental hygienists and dental nursing assistants.

Stewart has practices in Winchester and Fareham; where he is in partnership with other specialists in the Wessex Dental Specialist Centre treating advanced multi-disciplinary cases.
