Dr Justin Stewart
Dr Stewart's Profile
Dr. Justin Stewart gained his BDS in 1992 at The Royal London Hospital. He initially took an interest in surgery, gaining his FDS RCS part 1 in Glasgow in 1994. He has since worked mainly in London, including a stint in Harley Street.
Dr. Stewart was the first qualified Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS) dentist in the UK, and has often been the first UK dentist to attend a variety of lectures and courses on the latest and best ideas on denture construction, including several courses in the US and Europe. Other courses include time at the Pankey Institute and the Peter Dawson Institute.
Dr Stewart has worked closely with Professor Julian Woelfel both in the US, and at his practice in the UK, and is currently working closely with Dr. Joe Massad on whose international board of advisory Dr. Stewart was recently appointed.
Dr Stewart is a member of the American Prosthodontic Society and the British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry. In 2008, he was selected to run the first pilot course in the UK to train dental nurses in impression taking. This course is being run by the Dental Nurse Education & training Centre at King’s Dental Hospital.
Dr. Stewart has lectured widely both to dentists and to the wider dental community, including local BDA groups, often around the theme of “Difficult Denture Cases Made Easy.” He is also the author of a column on denture related topics for the magazine “Dental Tribune.”
Dr. Stewart has brought 3D denture technology to the UK, and is the only dentist in the UK to use this advanced technique.
Dr. Stewart’s dentistry is limited to denture problems including implant solutions where needed. Generally, his view is to make the best dentures possible, and only resort to implants where absolutely necessary.
