Desensitisation

Desensitisation relates to the process of suppressing sensitivity. In dentistry, desensitisation is performed to eliminate or reduce the responses to pain from exposed portions of dentin in the tooth. Exposed nerves can cause heightened sensitivity to heat, cold and pain.
