Anaerobic Bacteria

Anaerobic bacteria are able to live and reproduce in areas where no oxygen is present. Infections caused by anaerobic bacteria typically include abscesses and tissue necrosis. Symptoms of anaerobic infections include particularly unpleasant smells as well as the formation of abscesses and the deterioration of soft tissue. The most common type of anaerobic bacteria is clostridia.
